Compassion
Has No Boundaries
Planning an estate is one of the most important decisions any of
us will ever make. The Humane Society of Louisiana is particularly
grateful to our friends and supporters, who name our organization
as a beneficiary in their will. In this way, they ensure their compassion
for animals continues to make a profound difference, even after
they are sadly no longer with us.
How
to Make a Bequest to The Humane Society of Louisiana
There are a number of ways to make a bequest:
- A nominated
monetary gift
- Residential and other property
- Shares
- Art works and antiques
- An insurance policy
|
Donors may make a bequest in support of the general purposes of
the organization or indicate their support of a specific program.
A bequest needs to be carefully drawn to comply with legal requirements.
It is advisable to seek assistance from your lawyer.
In the event of you wishing to make a nominated monetary gift
in your Will, it is advisable that a paragraph such as the following
appears:
|
I give to The Humane Society of
Louisiana, PO Box 740321, New Orleans, LA,,Federal ID #58-1795272,
the sum of $_____________ (insert the amount of the gift)
or _____________% of my residuary estate ________________
and/or the following property ______________ (insert nature
of gift, such as address or real estate property or specific
item) to be applied for the purposes of HSL in such a manner
as its directors may determine.
I direct that a receipt in writing
of the authorized officer of The HSL shall be deemed proof
of payment.

Please
Keep In Touch
If you are considering supporting HSL with a bequest, we encourage
you to contact us. We would like the opportunity to thank you and
invite you to visit our Dixieland Animal Care and Evacuation Center
and keep you informed of our various programs. Should you wish your

acknowledge your contribution privately.
If you would like to discuss planned giving options with us in
